How to play Treasure Hunter
Treasure Hunter hides one cache in a valley of meadow, forest, heath, crags and a lake. A few named sites stand around the valley — an old well, a great oak, a watchtower — and each holds a single true statement about where the cache is: which way it lies from here, how many paces away it is, what ground it is buried in, or which of two sites it is closer to.
No statement is enough on its own. Walk to the sites, collect their clues in your field notes, cross out the cells they rule out, and dig where only one cell survives. Each valley is generated so that the clues together point to exactly one cell and every clue matters.
There are six caches. Valleys grow from three sites to five, so there is more to cross-reference, and from the fourth valley you get two digs instead of three. Running out of digs costs a life and a new valley.
Objective
Visit the sites, combine their clues and dig up six caches without running out of lives.
