How to play Jungle Quest
Jungle Quest drops you at the west edge of a jungle drawn as a tile map, with a camp waiting somewhere on the east edge. Open ground costs one supply a step. Thicket blocks the way until you cut it, which costs two supplies and opens the tile for good, so every wall of green is a choice: pay to go straight through, or walk around for free. Rivers can only be crossed at fords or by paying three supplies to swing across on a vine, and swamp drinks three supplies a step. Fruit groves restock you and ruins pay points, but both tend to sit off the direct line.
When supplies run out you collapse and wake at the last camp with a little food, and the third collapse ends the expedition. Reaching camp scores the distance covered plus a bonus for every supply still in the pack.
An expedition is five jungles. Each is wider and thicker than the last, with more rivers, fewer fords and fewer groves, so the trade between speed and supplies gets harder every time.
Objective
Reach the camp on the far side of five jungles in a row without collapsing three times.
