How to play Lost City
Lost City is five sealed districts of a buried city, each closed by an inscription in the city's glyph script. You walk the district to find its tablets, and every tablet you reach teaches one glyph. Then you stand at the sealed door and translate its inscription: pick a glyph, pick a meaning, and a wrong pairing costs torchlight. When the whole line reads true, the door opens.
The lexicon carries over. Glyphs learned in the gate district appear again on the market door, the market's on the temple, and so on, so each district is solved partly from memory and partly by elimination. Inscriptions grow longer, and the later doors bring in more glyphs you have never seen.
The torch is the clock: it burns while you walk and loses a chunk for every wrong pairing. Three sealed doors failed outright, or a torch burned down, ends the dig.

Translate the inscription on each of five district doors by learning glyphs from tablets and eliminating meanings, before the torch burns out.
