How to play Zombie Arena
Zombie Arena puts two survivors in a walled yard against eight waves of the dead, either two players on one keyboard or one player with a computer partner. Every bullet either of you fires comes out of one shared pool of ammo, so the real skill is deciding who shoots.
The shove costs no ammo — each survivor has three charges that come back over time — and it knocks zombies back, stuns them and finishes off the weak ones, which makes it the answer to anything that gets close. Ammo only comes back from the crates some zombies drop, the resupply between waves, and an emergency airdrop if the pool sits empty. A survivor who runs out of health goes down and can only crawl, and standing beside them for two seconds gets them back on their feet. If both of you are down at the same time, the yard falls. The computer partner covers you rather than carrying you: it shoots what gets close, leaves the brutes to you, grabs crates and comes to help you up.
Each wave brings more zombies, arriving in bigger groups through several gates at once. Runners join from the third wave, brutes that take eight bullets arrive from the fifth, and dropped ammo gets rarer as you go.
