How to play Snake Arena
Snake Arena puts two snakes on one board and two players on one keyboard: cyan steers with W A S D and pink with the arrow keys. On a phone or tablet each player gets a pair of turn buttons on their own side of the screen, and anyone playing alone can take on the computer instead.
Apples add two segments, but the real meal is the other snake. When it runs into your body it is cut off: you gain half its length, at least three segments, and it starts again from four segments a moment later. Hitting a wall or your own tail costs you your length and gives nobody anything, and two heads that meet — in the same cell or passing through each other — take out both snakes.
A round lasts a minute and the longer snake at the buzzer takes it; the first to two rounds wins the match. Both snakes speed up through every round and each round starts a little faster than the last, and the computer makes fewer mistakes and hunts harder as the match goes on.
