How to play Space Arena
Space Arena is a dogfight with real momentum, for two players on one keyboard or one player against a computer pilot. Thrust pushes you and very little slows you down, so every turn is a question of where your ship is already going. Fly off one edge and you come back on the opposite one, and so do your shots — the closest line to your opponent might run straight off the screen.
A star burns in the middle of the map and pulls on ships and shots alike. Touching it is fatal, and it counts as a kill for the other pilot. Each ship takes four hits. Firing heats your blaster, and firing while it is hot jams it for over a second. Hyperspace takes you out of sight for a second and drops you somewhere safer, but it needs five seconds to recharge.
The first pilot to five kills wins. The star pulls harder after every kill, so the middle of the map gets more dangerous as the match goes on, and the computer leads its shots more accurately and steers clear of the star more reliably after each one.
