How to play Battle Arena
Battle Arena is a top-down blaster duel for two players on one keyboard, or for one player against the computer. Each fighter has three hit points, a blaster and a short dash that slips through incoming fire, and the first to five knockouts wins the match. Keyboard aim follows your movement in eight directions; holding fire locks it so you can strafe, and a shot fired close to the opponent is steered to meet them.
Pickups decide most exchanges, and none of them ever appears next to one player. Each spawn point is chosen so both fighters are about the same distance away, and a ring marks it two seconds before it can be taken, so every pickup is a race you can see coming. A shield soaks up the next hit, rapid fire more than doubles your rate of fire, spread shot fires three bolts, ricochet shots bounce twice off walls and cover — back at you, if you are careless — and a repair restores a hit point.
Cover is laid out symmetrically, in one of three arenas. If nobody lands a hit for 25 seconds the walls start closing in, and standing outside them costs hit points, so no duel can stall. Pickups arrive faster and shots fly faster after every knockout, and the computer reacts faster, aims more precisely and dodges more often as the match goes on.
