How to play Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is a race to get rid of your cards. Play one that matches the top of the discard pile by rank or by suit; an eight can go on anything, and whoever plays it names the suit that has to follow. If nothing in your hand fits you draw a card, and if that one fits you may play it straight away.
The first player out of cards wins the round and scores what the other two are still holding — fifty for each eight, ten for a picture card, one for an ace and face value for everything else — so a round lost while holding an eight is an expensive one.
Your two opponents hold their eights back until they need them, switch to the suit they hold most of, and get rid of their expensive cards first. The game runs to 200 points; get there first to win.
