How to play FreeCell
FreeCell deals all fifty-two cards face up into eight cascades, with four free cells to park single cards and four foundations built up by suit. Nothing is hidden, so the whole game is planning — and filling the free cells is how deals are lost.
Deals use the classic numbered shuffle, and the deal number is always on screen. Every numbered deal from 1 to 32,000 is known to have a solution except #11982, which is never dealt — so a deal you could not finish was a deal you could have finished.
Runs move together whenever the free cells and empty cascades would let them move one card at a time, and the game tells you how many that is. Cards nothing on the table can still need drift home on their own. Undo is always available at a small cost, and when no card can move at all the deal is over.
