How to play Sudoku

Every puzzle is generated in your browser from a complete solved grid, then cells are removed while checking that the puzzle still has a single solution. Easy leaves the most clues, Hard leaves the fewest.

Select a cell and type a digit, or use the on-screen number pad on touch devices. Conflicting digits are highlighted immediately and count towards the mistake counter; three mistakes ends the run. The timer runs from the first move.

Objective

Fill every row, column and three-by-three box with the digits one to nine, without repeating any digit.
