How to play Checkers
Checkers plays by English draughts rules. Men move and capture diagonally forwards, a capture is compulsory whenever one exists, and a jump that can continue has to continue — you make it one landing at a time and the board shows where the piece may go next. A man that reaches the far row is crowned and his move ends right there; kings step and capture in every diagonal direction.
The pieces that can legally move are ringed at the start of every turn, which matters most when a capture is waiting somewhere you were not looking.
You face a ladder of three opponents searching two, four and six moves ahead. A side with no legal move loses, and forty moves each without a capture or a crowning is a draw that gets replayed. A loss costs one of three lives.
