How to play Robot Fighter
Robot Fighter is a side-on duel ladder against five robots. Every robot, yours included, is built from five parts with their own integrity: head, right arm, core, left arm and legs. A diagram for each robot shows what is left of every part, and a destroyed core ends the fight.
You move an aim line up and down your opponent, from the head through the right arm, core and left arm to the legs, and every hit lands on the part the line is on. Your left arm throws a fast, short jab and your right arm fires a slower cannon that reaches most of the arena. A destroyed arm cannot use its weapon, damaged legs slow walking and shorten dodges, and a damaged head shakes your aim or makes a computer robot react later and miss more. While the arms are intact they guard the core and soak up most of each hit on it.
Every robot winds up before it attacks, with a charge ring on the weapon and a red marker on the part it is aiming at, so you can time a dodge. The computer dodges slow attacks it sees coming and hits back while you recover. Every attack adds heat, and a robot that overheats cannot attack for two seconds. You face a cannon robot on a light arm, a fast drill brawler, a tank on armoured tracks, a sniper with a fragile head and a balanced final model, and each fight opens with a card that says what to break first. You are repaired between fights, one defeat ends the ladder, and a fight still going after 90 seconds goes to the robot with more integrity left.
