How to play Knight RPG
Knight RPG is eight arena fights on a small grid. Enemies declare their attacks before they land: the tiles they will hit glow red and an arrow shows the direction the blow travels. Your shield stops anything coming from the front and halves what comes from the sides, so turning to face the right enemy is usually worth more than swinging your sword.
A shield bash cancels an attack outright and shoves the enemy a tile — into a pit, into a pillar for a stun, or into the path of the spearman behind it. Spears and arrows hit whatever stands in their line, enemies included, so a well-placed shove does more damage than you ever could.
Footmen give way to spearmen, archers and brutes too heavy to push, and arenas fill with pits and pillars. After each win you choose one of three upgrades — a tower shield, a longer sword, spiked bash, riposte — and your health carries into the next fight.
