How to play Dungeon RPG

Dungeon RPG is a turn-based crawl through five generated floors. Rooms and corridors are drawn fresh every time and you only see what your torch reaches — line of sight, not a radius, so a corner really does hide what is behind it. Move or attack one tile at a time; everything that has noticed you moves when you do.

Rats and goblins give way to skeletons and orcs as you go down, and the only counterweight is what you find: keener blades, plate, potions and the experience that raises your health, attack and defence. Health creeps back while nothing is hunting you, which makes a quiet corridor worth something.

The stairs only lead down. On the fifth floor the Warden waits, and it telegraphs its heaviest swing one turn before it lands — step out of the way and the maul hits stone. There is no second chance: when you die, the run is over.
