How to play Haunted Hospital
Haunted Hospital puts you on the top floor of a closed hospital with a torch, a floor plan you picked up at the stairwell, and three floors to get down. Each floor is a maze of wards and corridors, and the only way down is the service lift — which has no power until you find the three fuses marked on the plan.
The plan is old. Some of the doors it shows have been bricked up, and some doors that really exist were never drawn on it. You only find out by walking there: every difference you pass is marked on your plan, a red wall for a door that is not there and a green dash for one that is. Tap a room and you walk the route you believe in, rerouting as the plan turns out to be wrong.
Something else walks the wards. With your torch on you see three rooms down a corridor and it sees your light from twice that far — though its eyes glint back at you from just as far, and when it spots you it stops for a moment before it comes. With the torch off it has to be right next to you to notice, but you see only the room you are standing in and you feel your way along the walls, slowly. Supply closets let you hide, as long as it is not already watching you, and its footsteps tell you how close it is. Get caught and you wake up back at the stairwell with the fuses you already found; get caught three times and the hospital keeps you. Each floor is larger, its plan is less reliable and the walker is faster, and on the last floor there are two of them.
