How to play Color Memory
Colours flash one at a time in a single large swatch in the middle of the screen. There are no pads and no positions to remember: only the colours and their order. When the playback ends, the palette appears in a freshly shuffled order and you rebuild the whole sequence from memory. Every pick drops a chip into the answer row, and nothing is checked until you confirm, so you can take back the last chip with Backspace or the UNDO button whenever you change your mind.
The sequence is cumulative. Each round replays every colour you have already seen plus exactly one new colour at the end, so round 1 is a single colour and round 20 is a chain of twenty. A correct answer scores 10 points per colour, plus a streak bonus for every clean round in a row. A wrong answer costs one of three hearts, marks the chips you got wrong, shows the correct order underneath, and then replays the same round with the palette reshuffled again. Five clean rounds in a row restore a lost heart. Clear round 20 to win; lose all three hearts and the run ends.
The challenge ramps up in three ways. The palette grows from 4 colours to 6 at round 5, 8 at round 10 and 10 at round 15, and the later colours sit close to ones already in play: cyan beside blue, lime beside green, and an amber mixed between orange and yellow. Each colour is flashed for 0.90 seconds in round 1, shortening to 0.56 seconds by round 20. Because the palette is reshuffled on every attempt, remembering where a colour was never helps. The first rounds are gentle, but holding a 20-colour chain in your head is a real feat, so treat a full clear as a long-term goal and your best round as the score to beat.
Press H or the LETTERS button to print a letter on every colour (on the big swatch, the palette and your chips) if some hues are hard to tell apart. It makes the game partly letter memory, and the setting is remembered on this device along with your best round.
