How to play Math Addition

Math Addition is an addition drill that pays attention. Every sum belongs to a fact the game keeps a weight for: get it wrong, or take a long time over it, and its weight goes up so it comes back sooner; answer it quickly and it fades into the background. The facts you are shakiest on are listed on screen, so you can see exactly what the game is working on.

There are five stages — single digits, sums through twenty, two-digit sums without carrying, two-digit sums with carrying, and three-digit sums — and each needs ten correct answers to pass. Both orders of a fact turn up, so 7 + 5 and 5 + 7 are practised together.

Answers are typed on the keyboard or tapped on the number pad. A sum left for fifteen seconds counts as a mistake, and every third mistake costs one of three hearts. Quick answers and long streaks score more.
